This is not a degree title qualifying with ministerial approval for the exercise of regulated professional activities.

The goals of this Master's degree are in line with the stipulates of the Spanish Framework for Higher Education Qualifications (MECES) and ensure the achievement of the basic competencies required to obtain a master's degree, following article 3.3, Appendix I of R.D. 1393/2007.
Fulfilment of the goals means students have achieved competencies that must be consistent with the fundamental rights of equality between men and women, with the principles of equal opportunities and universal accessibility for the disabled, and with the values proper to a democratic and peace-loving culture.
RECOMMENDED ENTRY PROFILE
This Master's program is designed to train GIS professionals, experts in spatial data analysis, GIS analysis and development, cartography, satellite image analysis, etc., with a clear territorial focus. Therefore, the entry profile is geared towards students with undergraduate degrees related to land management and analysis who also demonstrate the acquisition of GIS-related skills, such as:
• Using geographic information as a tool for interpreting the territory.
• Expressing information cartographically.
• Managing Geographic Information Systems.
Graduates in Geography and related fields, Geospatial Information Technology Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Geomatics Engineering, Forestry Engineering, Civil and Territorial Engineering and related fields, Environmental Engineering, and Agro-environmental Engineering or related fields will have direct access to the Master's program in GIS.
For students applying to the Bachelor's degrees in Architectural and Urban Planning, Agricultural Engineering, Geology, Biology, Tourism, Criminalistics, History, etc., the Master's program's academic committee will verify the prior acquisition of the aforementioned competencies in one of the following ways:
1. By having completed a course related to ICT in their undergraduate studies, which the committee will verify through an analysis of the curricula.
2. By demonstrating equivalent professional experience through consulting activities or holding technical positions related to ICT.
3. By having completed continuing education courses of equivalent duration and training (university specialization courses, micro-credentials, etc.).
Students applying to these degrees who cannot demonstrate the acquisition of these competencies in one of the ways specified will not be admitted to the Master's program, as supplementary training is not offered. The Master's program will be taught in Spanish to meet the high demand from students in Spain and Latin America. Therefore, students whose native language is not Spanish must demonstrate at least a B2 level of proficiency in a foreign language.
MASTER'S PROGRAM ADMISSION CRITERIA:
The admission criteria for applicants who meet the entry requirements are as follows:
1. Academic record, valued at up to 5 points. A conversion rule will be established based on the average grade of the student body, expressed on a scale of 0 to 10.
2. English proficiency, both spoken and written. 0.5 points will be awarded to students who demonstrate a B2 level (First English Certificate or equivalent), and 1 point to those who demonstrate a C1 level or higher (Advanced English Certificate or equivalent and higher).
3. Letter of motivation. Up to 1 point will be awarded for submitting a letter of motivation written by the student explaining their reasons for wanting to pursue the master's degree.
4. Letter of recommendation. Up to 1 point will be awarded for submitting a letter or letters of recommendation from university faculty, employers in the public or private sector of GIS, etc.
5. Prior professional, research, or other experience in Geographic Information Technologies. Up to 2 points will be awarded for carrying out professional or research activities related to GIS.
Fees: 1st matriculation: nationals and residents: 2.736 € ; non-EU non-residents: 5.079 € (approximate information).
Classes are held in the morning, but full dedication is required, as it is necessary to carry out independent work exercises in the afternoon (study, practical exercises, etc.), as well as attend thematic seminars and conferences.
