Professional qualification

Qualifying Master's: This Master's is in accordance with the 7th Additional Provisions of the General Public Health Law 33/2011, of 4th October and Order ECD/1070/2013, of 12th June, which establish the requirements for Official University degree titles that qualify for the exercise of the regulated profession of General Health Psychologist.

Goals and competences

The goals of this Master's degree are in line with the stipulates of the Spanish Framework for Higher Education Qualifications (MECES) and ensure the achievement of the basic competences required to obtain a master's degree, in accordance with article 3.3, Appendix I of R.D. 1393/2007.

Fulfilment of the goals means students have achieved competences which must be consistent with the fundamental rights of equality between men and women, with the principles of equal opportunities and of universal accessibility for the disabled, and with the values proper to a democratic and peace-loving culture.

Number of places for new students

Total number of places available: 60

A minimum of 20 students are required to teach the Master's programme.

Reserved places: 5% for students with a certified disability of 33% or more.

Specific admission conditions

Entry requirements:
Only applicants with a degree title in Psychology will be taken into consideration. Besides, Order ECD/1070/2013, which regulates this Master's, establishes in paragraph c) as a basic requirement for admission in the Master's Degree in General Health Psychology to have, apart from the degree title in Psychology, additional studies related to health sciences amounting to 90 ECTS credits. This training must be accredited by means of a certified document issued by the Secretariat of the Faculty in which the degree title giving access to this Master's was obtained.

Admission criteria:
Along with the aforementioned requirements, given the case that the applications are higher in number than the places availble, the following criteria will be assessed:

  • Academic record (70%)
  • Training in the field of Health Psychology (15%)
  • Professional activities in the field of health (15%)

For Master's Dissertations to be defended from academic year 2019-20 onwards, it has been established that, along with the Master's Dissertation, the student must submit to the director the summarized report (% of coincidence) given through Turnitin application, once the director has opened the application to obtain the aforementioned report (Approved by the Official Postgraduate and Doctoral Studies Committee, on its regular session dated 24th September 2019)

Timetable

Course 2020/21:

  • First course: 
    • Monday to Thursday from 15:30 to 20:30h. 
    • Internships will take place in a especific schedule depending on the centre they take place.
  • Second course: 
    • Optional subjects schedule: from 09:30 to 14:30h (morning group); 15:30 to 20:30h (afternoon group).
    • Practicum and Master's Dissertation tutorials will take place in the same schedule as the optional subjects. Detailed schedules will be published in a near future.
    • Internships will take place in a especific schedule depending on the centre they take place.

Course 2019/20:

  • Morning group: Tuesday to Friday from 09:30 to 14:30h
  • Afternoon group: Monday to Thursday from 15:30 to 20:30h.
  • Internships will take place in a especific schedule depending on the centre they take place.
