Más Información: NYU Madrid is seeking a part-time lecturer to teach a course, Epidemiological Methods and Design for graduate students in NYU's College of Global Public Health enrolled in the Cross-Continental MPH program for the Spring 2020 semester. The course will run once a week for 3 hours for 13 weeks. The semester begins on January 30th and ends on May 7th. There are two breaks, March 16-20 and April 6 - 12 and the exam week is May 11 - 14. The lecturing role includes all preparation, delivery, and grading (some administrative assistance is available to support the preparation of course materials). Courses are to be intellectually challenging in content, and rigorous student assessment is required. Epidemiological Methods and Design (3 credits) This 3-unit course will cover in-depth, advanced methods for modern epidemiologic study design, sampling, quantitative measurement, including reliability and validity, and statistical analysis appropriate for selected study designs relevant to global health research and practice. Considerations regarding the responsible conduct of research in international settings will be integrated throughout the course. This course is offered to graduate students with a basic knowledge of epidemiologic and biostatistical principles, including causal inference, standard study design, confounding, bias, validity, and commonly-used analytical methods. Lecturers must be approved by the academic unit at NYU. Candidates who have experience in teaching within an American university system to a diverse English speaking graduate student body are strongly encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to those who have a minimum of 2-3 years' experience teaching at the university level in English.
