Vice-President for Teaching and Students

Dr. Marisol Morales Ladrón  is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Modern Philology at the University of Alcalá, where she has taught since 1994. She holds Degrees in English Philology (1991), Spanish Philology (1994) and Psychology (2012). She received the Special Doctorate Award (1998-99) and the Young Researchers Prize (2000). She has three research periods and four teaching periods recognised. In 2008, she was a visiting lecturer at the University of Limerick (Ireland) and has undertaken teaching and research stays in Ireland, the United Kingdom, the United States and Brazil. She has led three research projects, out of twelve in which she has participated, and is currently lead researcher in an R+D+i project funded by the Ministry of the Economy and Competitiveness. She coordinates a teaching innovation group, she is the head of one Innovation project, and has been a member of six. Her publications include the books Breve introducción a la literatura comparada (1999) and Las poéticas de James Joyce y Luis Martín-Santos (2005). She edited the monographs Postcolonial and Gender Perspectives in Irish Studies (2007) and Glocal Ireland: Current Perspectives on Literature and the Visual Arts (2011), and two studies of feminist criticism. She has also published articles on both English and Irish writers, and writers from the Spanish-speaking world, which have appeared in journals with national and international impact. The management positions she has held include Head of the Department of Modern Philology (2010-13), Director of Educational Organisation (2015), President of the Spanish Association of Irish Studies (AEDEI, 2007-2014), Member of the Board of Directors of AEDEI (2002-2007) and of the Spanish General and Comparative Literature Society (SELGYC, 2002-2008), and since 2013, she has been a member of the Executive Committee of the International Association for the Study of Irish Literature (IASIL), as a result of which she is the European Representative for Irish Studies.

The creation, management and coordination of Faculties and Centres of the University of Alcalá.

Organisation of students' access to the University.

Secretaries of students, registration, records, validation of studies and grants.

The application of regulations governing continuance.

Planning, implementation and monitoring of processes for the assessment of teaching quality.

Planning and coordination of Teaching Innovation Programmes and Support for face-to-face and virtual teaching (Education Sciences Institute, Virtual Classroom).

Management of External Work Placements, Career Guidance Placement and Vocational and Counselling.

Relations with students and ordinary representation in student bodies and organisations.

Support and guidance for students.

Implementation of the agreements of the Teaching Committee.

Signing agreements, declarations of interest or covenants on matters within his competence on behalf of the University of Alcalá.
