From Madrid

By train

Cercanías suburban railway network trains on line C2 (Chamartin/Alcalá de Henares/Guadalajara) depart from the stations of Chamartin, Nuevos Ministerios, Recoletos and Atocha, stopping at Alcalá de Henares station. The train timetables are listed on the Renfe website.

There are departures approximately every 5-8 minutes during rush hour and every 10-20 minutes at other times. The estimated journey time from Atocha to Alcalá de Henares is 37 minutes.

Since October 2004, access to the Campus has also been possible on the new Civis Cercanías suburban train, saving considerable time compared to the standard service.

By bus

Buses run by the company ALSA bound for Alcalá de Henares leave from Madrid (at the Avenida de América transfer point). The journey time is approximately 30 minutes.

  • Line 223 Alcalá de Henares (Historic Campus).
  • Line 229 Alcalá de Henares (Virgen del Val).

Buses also leave Torrejon for Alcalá de Henares:

  • Line 251 Torrejón de Ardoz - Valdeavero - Alcalá de Henares

By car

You can reach Alcalá de Henares from Madrid via the A-2 Madrid-Barcelona motorway. There are various exits you can use to reach the city, although the first one is number 23, from where you can reach the city centre and the various buildings in the historical district.

From Guadalajara

By train

Cercanías suburban railway network trains stopping at Alcalá Universidad station (Science and Technology Campus) and Alcalá de Henares station (Historic Campus) depart from Guadalajara and Azuqueca stations. There are departures approximately every 15 minutes during rush hour and every 30 minutes at other times. The journey time from Atocha to Alcalá de Henares is 19 minutes.

By bus

Buses run by the company ALSA bound for Alcalá de Henares leave from Guadalajara. The journey time is approximately 15 minutes.

  • Line 221 Guadalajara (Guadalajara Campus) - Alcalá de Henares (C.C. La Dehesa) - Madrid
  • Line 221A Guadalajara - Alcalá de Henares (Historic Campus).

You can reach the historic campus From the La Dehesa shopping centre by urban bus line 5.

By car

You can reach Alcalá de Henares from Guadalajara via the A-2 Madrid-Barcelona motorway. There are various exits you can use to reach the city, although the first one is number 34, from where you can reach the Science and Technology Campus and the city centre, and the various buildings on the Historic Campus.

How to reach the President's Office

The President's Office Building, also known as the Colegio de San Ildefonso, is located at plaza de San Diego, s/n, right in the centre of Alcalá de Henares, very near the railway station and the inter-city bus terminal.

Via the A-2 (Madrid-Barcelona), taking the exit for Meco, Alcalá de Henares (Hospital Universitario), located at kilometre 31.7, leads directly to the Science and Technology Campus.

From Guadalajara|campus-tecnologico-desde-guadalajara

By train

Train line C2 (Guadalajara/Chamartin), stopping at Alcalá Universidad, leaves from Guadalajara railway station. The train timetables are listed on the Renfe web site.

Trains depart every 15 minutes during rush hour and every 30 minutes at other times.

The journey time from Guadalajara to Alcalá Universidad is 15 minutes.

By bus

Buses run by the company ALSA line 221 de la empresa "ALSA" stopping in the La Dehesa shopping centre leave from the bus station in Guadalajara. This class takes you to within walking distance of the Science and Technology Campus, crossing Alcalá Universidad railway station.

By car

On the A-2 (towards Madrid), taking the exit for Meco, Alcalá de Henares (Hospital) at kilometre 32.2.

From Alcalá

By bus, Alcalá bus lines 2 , la 12 and line 3 link the Plaza de Cervantes with the Science and Technology Campus.

There is a free minibus service between the railway station and the National Library, stopping at the University of Alcalá Science and Technology Campus.

Buses on the Madrid Autonomous Region interurban network leave from the Avenida de América transfer point.. La line 221 takes you to Guadalajara. Buses on the same network also depart from Alcalá de Henares, hourly from 7:00 am until 21:45 pm, which make the journey Alcalá de Henares-Azuqueca-Alovera-Guadalajara (line 221A)

By car

Via the A-2 (Madrid-Barcelona), taking the exit for Guadalajara - Centro ciudad, you reach Avenida del Ejército in Guadalajara, which takes you to both the School of Education (near the Palacio del Infantado) and the Multidepartmental Building (towards Plaza de Santo Domingo, c/Cifuentes, 28).

Travel within the city

To reach the Guadalajara Campus buildings you can use the urban bus service:

Multidepartamental Building:

  • From the Renfe Station: Lines R1, L4, y C2 (stopping at Constitución). Line C1 (stopping at Constitución, only on the return journey to the Renfe railway station)
  • From the bus station: Line L3 (stopping at Cardenal G. Mendoza) line and then a few minutes walk.

Faculty of Education:

  • From the Renfe Station: Lines R1 (Renfe-Universidad Centro) and L6 (stopping at Dos de Mayo). Line L4, only on the return journey to the Renfe railway station.
  • From the bus station: the journey is walking distance.

You must be a registered resident of the municipality of Guadalajara to obtain both the new XGUADA card and all transport season tickets except the Ordinary and Monthly tickets.. More information about prices and tickets.
